BEWARE OF FRAUD

One day, my uncle got a call from an unknown number, he picked the call. The person from the other side said that he was calling from bank (where my uncle has a savings A/C). He also added that bank is updating the personal details of their customer and requested my uncle to give all the personal details regarding his bank A/C. Uncle, believing it to be true, gave all the details. After sometime the stranger asked for the OTP (One Time Password) which my uncle received in his phone. Lack of awareness made him to give OTP to strangers. After sometime another message popped stating Rs.15,000 was debited from your A/C. My shocked uncle, realised the situation and rushed to his bank. Bank said they cannot help in this situation and gave advise of beware of frauds. Fraud can happen anywhere, so it is us who have to avoid fraud. In this situation, my uncle could have spoke to someone who knows about the bank or he could have directly contacted the bank. Reading and hearing about fraud isn’t enough. Using it practically or knowing how to avoid the frauds will only be helpful to avoid frauds. For my uncle, this tends to be a great lesson. From then on he is ensured and precautioned. This doesn’t mean that everyone should change only when they learn a right lesson, the change can happen when you hear someone who had been into a fraud. Newspaper, media, talking with many humans will gather a lot of knowledge about what is happening in the world.
